Coral Bay Tours

Sub Sea Explorer – an essential tour in Coral Bay

The Sub Sea Explorer is the only way to see the reef from below the water line. The Sub Sea Explorer is by far the most popular coral viewing vessel in the bay due to it being the only vessel where you sit below the water line to see the fish, corals and marine life. It has been likened to having your own private cinema seat to the ocean beyond. It is guaranteed to give the best coral viewing experience for you and your family so watch out for the iconic Sub Sea Explorer when you arrive in town. Because the vessel gives you an unrivaled experience, and is so popular, you are encouraged to book a trip prior to traveling to Coral Bay (click here to book).

Coral Bay is the gateway to the Ningaloo Reef and aptly named due to the beautiful corals that carpet the entire bay.

Coral Bay Tour Types

We offer either 1 hour coral and marine viewing tours departing at 9am or you can book our very popular 2 hour snorkeling tour that departs at 10am everyday. The snorkeling tour will take you around the bay and moor up at ‘The Aquarium’ and allow you to snorkel and interact with the abundant fish species that live among the beautiful corals. An informative commentary helps you capture the magnificence of the reef and the creatures that inhabit it. Your trained guide is on hand to answer any questions you may have.

You will spend the first half of the tour getting acquainted with the common coral species and enjoying the antics of the sub-tropical fish species. You may even see rays or turtles glide past. There is an opportunity to go up on deck and feed the fish that you see following the Sub Sea. You will then moor up at the aptly-named ‘Aquarium’ and spend about an hour snorkeling with our guide or enjoying the sunshine up on deck.

All snorkeling equipment is supplied.

Fish Feeding

Come meet us at the pontoon at 3.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for a fish feeding demonstration. A truly magical experience and a must while in Coral Bay. You’ll find us at the Sub Sea pontoon on the beach – you can’t miss us.

Specially formulated fish pellets will be handed out by our crew. Several fish ‘regulars’ will come for a free feed! The kids will get to know the various species on display and will have an enjoyable, safe and memorable experience.

We ask that all visitors to the Reef do not touch the fish or feed them human food as this causes liver disease among other ailments.
